I am a composer, pianist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, music director and conductor. I love the collaboration involved in making memorable moments in films, TV, and games through music.
I recently completed works for You Shall Not Pass and the Witch of the Faded Forest concept film trailer. I also have scored recently for an independent game developer and a virtual reality start-up company. I conduct the Legacy Brass and I produce annual summer concerts in my backyard, overlooking the hills and fields of northwest Oregon. My piano improvisation album, Wildflower, is available on all streaming platforms.
Why film score? When I was 12, I saw “The Man from Snowy River”, an epic Australian western. Bruce Rowland’s score inspired me to want to write music for film. I’m inspired by John Williams, John Powell, Ludwig Göransson, and Alexandre Desplat, among many others.
I have a Masters of Music in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music and a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and Composition from Whitworth University. My studies in film score have included the Joy Music House Score Production Workshop and the UCLA Extension Film Scoring Certificate program. Highlights of these studies have been recording my music with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, conducting world-class musicians recording my music at EastWest Studios in L.A., and connecting with other composers through the Society of Composers and Lyricists and the Alliance for Women Film Composers.
